After 21 years with the Italian Group Olivetti, for which he worked in Belgium, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom, Marco founded in 1997 HIM, a Brussels-based SME specialised in the fields of telecare and telehealth.

Chiara 2 Chiara Mommo

In 2001 Chiara graduated with honours in Communications at La Sapienza University (Rome, Italy). Since 2002 she has been working in EC funded projects. She worked as Project Manager Assistant in local economical development projects for Northern African countries.
Since 2003 she has been collaborating with HIM, as responsible for the administrative management of European projects. Currently, in SmartCare and BeyondSilos as well as cooperating in the preparation and submission of the new H2020 proposals.

Maria Teresa Hurtado Mora

She holds both a BSc in Computer Science: Informatics (Merit Award for Academic Excellence) from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, Port Elizabeth, South Africa and a Degree in Business Administration & Tourism from Zaragoza University, Spain. Since 1999, she has contributed actively in EU funded and other international funded projects, first as R&D Director of software innovative enterprise and currently as Operations Manager of SmartCare, BeyondSilos and CareWell projects.


Wouter A. Keijser, MD

Is an expert in (cultural) transition in and between healthcare organisations. After his medical education (Free University of Amsterdam medical school), Wouter established a 15+ years experience in healthcare innovations across Europe. In his works as researcher at the University Twente, Wouter focusses on sustainable implementing medical leadership and interdisciplinary teamwork. Wouter is (Europe's first) TeamSTEPPS™ master trainer and he works as certified Human Synergistics™ and certified facilitator of the NHS 'Leadership Framework'.


Paolo Da Col, MD

He has joined HIM SA after leading in Trieste (Italy) the successful implementation of the flagship initiative DREAMING and now is Medical Coordinator of Smartcare Project and BeyondSilos Project. His entire career was in the Italian public health system, as Researcher, Clinician and as Director of a Diabetic Clinic. He acted also as Director of a Health Care District as well as Chief Health Officer of the local Health Authority. He acquired the specialization in Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Preventive Medicine and Public Health.

Carmen Ceinos Kohn

She holds dual degrees: a B.S. in Computer Science and a M.D. in Spanish Literature, both from Indiana University (USA), along with a degree in Spanish Philology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain). She has been involved for more than 20 years in activities related with EU R&D framework programmes and has been acting as expert evaluator and reviewer for the European Commission since 1992. Her experience with national and international consortia in the implementation and exploitation of IT in key sectors, mainly in Health, has also provided her with a strategic view of the key factors that facilitate the acceptance of the new technologies in different areas.

Panagiotis (Panos) Stafylas

Dr. Stafylas is a Cardiologist/Medical Coordinator of eHealth projects. He holds PhD in cardiovascular risk factors and MSc in Health Care Management. He has been actively involved in more than 25 research projects.


John Oates

John has worked in IT for over 45 years, the last 25 in the healthcare sector. He has worked with HIMsa for 15 years, providing consultancy and quality assurance support for a number or EU funded projects. The most recent / current projects include SmartCare, BeyondSilos, Carewell and SUSTAINS.
